Zara Akbar Biography picture

During the 1990s, an actress named Zara Akbar appeared in a number of television serials. The young actress seemed to have been introduced without any prior experience of acting. However, people who are aware of the theater scene in Lahore have been familiar with Zara's name for quite some time due to her appearance in a number of popular Lahore stage plays. One of her earliest performances on TV came in the hit drama serial 'Aahan', which was based on the life and struggles of army men in the country. The drama was a huge hit during the nineties and Zara earned recognition even though her role in the play was quite minor. She also acted in the popular PTV long play 'Heer Waris Shah' along side seasoned TV artists like Ajab Gul and Tahira Wasti. Other dramas in which she received appreciation for the roles she played include 'Tanha Tanha', directed by Tanveer Jamal and 'Doosri Aurat', directed by Haider Imam Rizvi. Both of these dramas were aired on PTV.
